I have installed vRealize Automation more times than I would like to admit. Installing this product so many times will of course lead to simple errors made during install.
I had incorrectly put the DNS servers in the vRA appliance when importing it into vCenter. The DNS servers were there but were off by a digit.
If you make this mistake you will notice during install you will run into issues resolving the name of your IAAS box. It was then I noticed the /etc/resolv.conf file was incorrect. So I went ahead and updated it and everything was good….. until I rebooted.
/etc/resolv.conf is re-written on reboot.
To fix this issue you can update your /etc/resolv.conf file and then run the following command:
chattr +i /etc/resolv.conf
This will make the file immutable and vRA will no longer be able to update it.
