My goal this evening was to record the Infoblox/vRA integration that I have been working on the last couple weeks. I was ready to setup my recording devices and start recording and for the life of me I could not get Windows 10 to properly detect my microphone.
From a privacy standpoint I usually shutoff everything I don’t use… which also includes the microphone. I wasted to much time trying to get this working.
I first noticed OBS Studio saw my microphone but wouldn’t show me talking… this lead me to realizing Windows 10 recognized my microphone but also didn’t see the device as working… even though I can talk into it and hear myself….
Make sure you are allowing apps access to your Microphone.
Right-Click on the Start Menu and click “Settings” -> Privacy -> Microphone. Make sure you are allowing apps to access your microphone. Mine was deselected per privacy concerns when setting up Windows.
Now it’s time to grab a pop and try to get this recorded again.
